In the meeting with Hervé Magro Consul General of France in Jerusalem and Gilles Desroches Sustainable Development Senior Vice President at Schneider Company, Mr. Jawdi Abu Sneineh Hebron Deputy Mayor called for getting a first-hand view of Hebron’s reality on the ground. The meeting which was attended by a delegation of Palestine Polytechnic University, Mohammad Imran Qawasmeh the Municipal Council Member well as Maher Owaiwi the General Manager discussed promoting cooperation in the context of economic development and other sectors.

 

After welcoming the delegations, Mr. Abu Sneineh spoke about Hebron, its geography and history, the Old City and the suffering of inhabitants due to occupation measures and practices under the pretext of protecting settlers as well as unjust division of the city into two parts where Israelis control over H2 areas, he also spoke about Israeli obstacles faced by Hebron Municipality efforts in providing and improving services to the locals.

 

Mr. Abu Sneienh then touched on close ties between people and leaderships of both France and Palestine, and underlined France’s political support to the Palestinian cause, pointing at the twining agreements between Hebron Municipality and many French Municipalities. He also added that Hebron Municipality is seeking at improving the energy in Palestine through joint projects with foreign parties in terms of relying on alternative energy which may reduce occupation control on energy resources.

 

Moreover, Mr. Owaiwi spoke about new electronic system set to provide high quality services to customers, and said “Hebron Municipality aims at integrated electronic municipality safe time and effort in covering the citizens’ needs”.

 

Consul Hervé stressed that France’s Government has many positives stances in supporting the Palestinian Cause, mentioning the role played by Schneider Company in promoting cooperation between both France and Palestine particularly Hebron Municipality. “Schneider Company has a prominent impact on Palestinian economic development “. Desroches said, adding that the World has predominantly depended on renewable energy.
