Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari discussed the opportunity of joint cooperation well as to supporting Water Sector in the City of Hebron with Anne Le Strat the Deputy Mayor Of Paris. The meeting was also attended by Municipal Council Members, the General manager and Hebron Mayor's Assistant.
After welcoming the delegation, Dr. Zatari described the economic and commercial importance of Hebron, and then he underlined the development projects in which Hebron Municipality adopted to enhance inhabitants' living condition. He also spoke about political and security conditions in the city, daily Palestinian suffering due to Israeli occupation and settler practices, the division of the city into two parts, settlers presence in its heart and around Al Ibrahimi Mosque and settlements which surround the city . “This situation prevents Hebron Municipality from improving its services”, he said.
Hebron Mayor stressed on the need to support the Old City’s nomination for inion on UNICCO. He also expressed Hebron Municipality interest of joint cooperation with Paris Municipality in various fields such Water projects.
Thereafter, Le Strat said that she was happy to get the chance to visit Hebron and Old City in particular, expressing regret for daily suffering of Old City's Citizen, and stressing on Palestinians' Right of decent living as other World's Inhabitants. She then toured in the Old City accompanied by Mr. Allam Ashhab , Hebron Mayor's Assistant and General Manager of International Cooperation.
Mrs. Le Strat illustrated that Paris Municipality always welcomed Palestinian Students, and she consisted on make a feasibility study for Water Project , willing to enhance cooperation and joint relationship with Paris Municipality.
