    Hebron Municipality Honors USAID and Black & Veatch


    The Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari, honored a staff from USAID chaired by Sonia Massis, Senior Project Manager, and a staff from Black & Veatch Company headed by Dr. Daoud Qawasmi, Technical Program Manager, after accomplishing the project of Milling and Overlaying Hebron City Internal Roads. The honoring event was also attended by members of Hebron's Municipal Council, Hebron Municipality's General Manager well as the Municipal Engineering Staff.
     
    After welcoming, Dr. Zatari expressed deepest thanks to USAID and Black & Veatch for their cooperation and much appreciated efforts to achieve the project, and added that the Municipality considers the project of Milling and Overlaying Hebron Streets as the first phase of rehabilitation Hebron Roads Network. "The project was rehabilitated with funding from  USAID for a total of $ 8 millions as well as from Hebron Municipality Fund in order to make rehabilitation for Hebron's most main streets and some sub-streets". said the Mayor, adding that the rehabilitation works included leveling of layers, building sidewalks, provision and installation of traffic signals and painting streets marking and lines.
     
    On his part, Dr. Qawasmeh expressed gratitude for Hebron Municipality's honoring, and praised the capabilities of the municipal staff for succeeding the project, pointing to the opportunity of implementing further future projects in Hebron City.
     
    Ms. Massis underlined that USAID is seeking at improving Palestinians' life condition by providing the city with many vital projects and supporting the Water Sector.
    Dr. Zatari then honored the staff by Certificates of Appreciation.
