Dr. Daoud Zatari, the Mayor of Hebron, met with a Czech delegation chaired by Mr. Vit Kraus, the Chairman of Trade Environment Solutions Finance T.E.F Group who was accompanied by Eng. Radomir Malis. The meeting which was also attended by ARIJ's President Mr. Nasri Qumsieh well as ARIJ's Public Relations Director, Raed Abed Rabbo aimed at discussing the opportunity of upgrading the sectors of Sanitation and Water in the City of Hebron.

 

After welcoming the visited delegation, the mayor spoke about the historical significance of Hebron, Hebron Municipality's achievements and the municipal services provided to citizens. He discussed the Municipal Strategic plan adopted by Hebron Municipality in the context of improving Water and Sanitation Sectors, underlining that the municipality relies on latest technology systems such as GIS in addition to SCADA. Then, he called the Czech experts to exert efforts in providing assistance to the Municipality in order to upgrade the mentioned sectors.

 

Mr. Kraus thanked the mayor for the warm reception and hospitality, and expressed his happiness for Hebron Municipality's achievements well as the future implementations. He also showed great readiness to assist the municipality in solving issues regards Water and Sanitation sectors with special attention to the industrial water treatment. The Incineration of Al-Minia Landfill's wastes to be then converted into electrical power was also among suggestions discussed in order to prolong the dumpsite's life.
 

By the end of the meeting, the mayor appreciated Kraus's suggestions, and called for exchanging experiences between the two countries in the fields of maintenance and upgrade Water and Sanitations networks.
