The Happiness Children Complex, a municipal facility, and the British Council opened the animated-films festival under the auspices of Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari. The festival which was attended by more than 700 attendances was comprised Dr. Raghad Dweik, a municipal council member, and Mr. Alan Smart, the British Council Director in Palestine who was accompanied by a staff of the council, in addition to Mahmoud Abu Sbeih, the Director of Youth and Cultural Activities Department as well as Atef Al-jamal, a Representative of Directorate of Education.

 

After welcoming the attendances, Abu Sbeih presented the different activities provided by the municipal social centers. Then, Dr. Dweik expressed her happiness for the high number of the attended children and parents and stressed that Hebron Municipality's strategic plan aims at enhancing the City's youth and cultural activities to ensure the improvement of  young and children' talents. Dr. Dweik expressed appreciation for British Council's total support to such kinds of activities, and lauded the role of Jerry and Yang in training and supervising on producing animated-films.

 

Afterwards, Mr. Smart expressed his gladness for participating in the festival, pointing to the British Council role to embrace Palestinian Children' telnets, and thanked the municipality and Happiness Children Center for the warm reception and hospitality, praising the exerted efforts by the council to support children' skills and capability, and promising for further future projects in the City's Centers.

 

The Representative of Education Directorate also expressed his admiration of the festival well as children' activities, reviewing efforts of the Directorate interested in children, and thanked both the municipality and the council for supporting the festival of animated-films.

 

The director of Children Happiness Complex's Public Relations, Shadia Sharif, made discussions on the executed projects by the center, noting to efforts of the trainers (Yang, Jerry, Naheel Sharabaty, Azhar Muhtasb, Nida's Abu Rajab, Mariam Hirbawi, as well as Rawan and Haya Muhtasb) in the success of the project. Then, the films prepared by the children were displayed and the council members honored the trainers.
