    Hebron Municipality Launches Projects of RENEP and HITEC in partnership with Turin Municipality


     Hebron Municipality declared the launch of Renewable Energies for Palestine project (RENEP) that aims at generating electricity from the solar energy as well as the project of Hebron Innovation Techno Park (HITEC) feasibility study through PMSP and MOLG which's dealing with the establishment of an Information Technology area. Both projects will be implemented in cooperation with Italian Cooperation institutions, Turin Municipality, Palestinian Private Sector and other local institutions.

    The launch ceremony were held in Korea Palestine Center (KPC) where Dr. Daoud Zatari, Hebron Mayor, and Rosanna Braga, Area Manager of International Cooperation and Peace department, then signed the MOU in the attendance of representatives of MOLG, Hebron Governorate, Palestinian Businessmen Forum, PPU, Italian Cooperation Institution, PMSP in addition to many Italian Experts and members from Hebron' Municipal Council.
     
    Mayor Zatari thanked Italy's people and Government for their supportive stances in contexts of political and economic conditions, and referred to the role of the signed agreements in enhancing the city's living condition. 
     
    Dr. Zatari underlined the significance of the RENEP project in terms of getting the Hebron's independence from the Israeli Energy company well as the public interest gained from the projects.
     
    The importance of the two projects to job creation particularly for recent graduated students as well as to keep pace with scientific development were among issues stressed by many of the representatives.
     
    Thereafter, Italian experts made detailed presentations regarded the two projects, their objectives, expected results and the implementation procedures. They also underlined Hebron's opportunity to succeed in achieving the projects objectives. The Projects Partners then called to deepen the ties with other Municipalities of Italy.
