The Mayor of Hebron Dr. Daoud Zatari , visited Italy with a view to strengthen ties and promote cooperation with the cities of Milan, Genoa, Turin and Arenzano. Dr. Zatari was accompanied by Mr. Hani Gaber, the Representative of State of Palestine Embassy in the North of Italy, and Mr. Yahia Natsheh, the Director of Public Relation of Hebron Municipality.
The Mayor Praised his visit to Italy, in which he conveyed the suffering of the Palestinians particularly the citizens of Hebron who daily facing illegal violation by the Israeli Occupation. He also referred to the obstructions that have been imposed by the Israelis at the entrances of the city, in the southern area of the city and in areas adjacent to Al-Ibrahimi Mosque , that led to decrease in economic growth rates, and to prevent the Municipality from providing service for citizens.
In the context of his visit to Italy, the Mayor intended to sign the implementation of the project of Hebron Innovative Quality Food – HI-Q Food in the framework of the Palestinian Municipalities Support Program (PMSP) with the Municipality of Milan. Moreover, he briefed to media in Italy about the historical significance of Hebron City, and praised the role of the Italian Government in supporting Palestinian Cities, also, he put lights on the twinning ties between Hebron and Italian Cities and on the mutual and future projects between the cities that will achieve public benefits.
