    Hebron Municipality Hosts International Experts in Tourism


    Hebron Municipality received a delegation of International Experts chaired by Hugh Hough, President of Green Team Global, to stimulate tourism in the city of Hebron, and to put Hebron City on the world map as it is considered the second oldest inhabited city in the world and the second destination in Palestine for the Muslim pilgrims. The delegation was accompanied by Richard Amin, Secretary at Holy Land Incoming Tour Operators Association (HLITOA).
     
    The Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari underlined the religious and historical significance of Hebron City due to the presence of many archeological and religious sites for both Muslims and Christians.
     
    He highlighted the joint cooperation between Hebron Municipality and the Ministry of Tourism which focuses on implementing many vital projects in the Old City that aimed at preserving the historic as well as the human heritage.
     
    The Mayor further added" we exert much effort to attract many investors from the Arab and other friendly Countries in the context of enhancing the service sector in the city by constructing facilities that serve the tourism such as restaurants and hotels.
     
    Dr. Zatari stressed that the tourism agencies should facilitate the visit of the tourists to be not restricted on visiting the sites but on accommodation in the Palestinians cities instead of backing to Israel.
     
     By the end of the meeting, the both sides agreed to intensifies efforts to put Hebron on the World Map.
