
Hebron Mayor Khaled Osaily met today at his office with members from the Palestinian Youth Parliament Preparatory Committee in Hebron Governorate who sought his support, blessings and directives for their project.
Mr. Abdelrahim Al Hashlamon, Preparatory Committee Coordinator, presented the idea behind creating this Parliament and spoke about future activities to be implemented by the Committee. He said that more than 4000 members have already registered from Hebron Governorate and aim to work together to elect 18 members to represent Hebron Governorate at the Palestinian Youth Parliament. He also touched on challenges and difficulties facing the Committee as well as of its aspiration to encourage youths to participate in and to interact with the Committee. "The qualitative leap we have witnessed in Hebron ever since Khaled Osaily became mayor drove us to come and seek your blessings, support and directives. Hebron Municipality gives great importance to the youth sector which is easily seen through projects implemented on the ground", he added.
Mayor Osaily said he was pleased to see young people work to improve themselves and to develop their personalities to produce a new Palestinian generation capable of leading Palestinians towards the fulfillment of their dreams and aspirations. "One of the main pillars of the Municipality‘s Strategic Plan is the development of the youth sector, providing it with facilities to cover its needs and enabling it to excel and to shine both in the Arab world and world-wide", he added.
Mayor Osaily explained to the delegation sound organizational and planning methods and underlined the importance of patience, entrepreneurship, and not giving in easily to frustration. He provided his support to all activities within this initiative and promised to provide all necessary help and follow-up to ensure that it is successful, serves the public interest and employs youth capacities to the fullest extent possible.
At the end of the meeting, Osaily asked the delegation to prepare a proposal as well as an action plan for all projects and activities before the next meeting so that the implementation process can start on sound basis and according to a clear vision. Finally, Osaily thanked the delegation whose members were very grateful for his support.
