An international youth camp that resides in the city of Ramallah and is sponsored by its municipality visited the city of Hebron on the 18th of August 2013. The camp is based on volunteer work in Palestinian cities that is done by a large youth group from different countries in the world and with the participation of Palestinian youth.
The camp was hosted by Hebron municipality in the city including a tour in the alleys of the old town and the Ibrahimi Mosque show them the geographical and historical importance of the city. in addition, they visited some youth centers of the Municipality of Hebron to introduce them to the most important activities offered by the centers.
Illustrations about the barriers and the difficulties that the citizens of the city face due to the Israeli occupation Authorities barriers and harassments in the old town was explained by Bilal Al Muhtaseb during the tour. He also illustrated the difficulty experienced by the city's residents to access the Cave of the Patriarchs to perform religious rights.
In addition, the Ibrahim Mosque massacre made by the Israelis and the results reflected on the people of the city that divided the city into two parts, which s the freedom of movement in the town.
"Eleonora Pochi" an Italian journalist that participated in the camp expressed her happiness for visiting Palestine, and expressed her appreciation for the city of Hebron because of its strength of will and endurance under the constraints imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities. Moreover, Pochi expressed her guilt and sorrow due to difficulties and barriers faced by Palestinians in the presence of the Israeli occupation and its inhumane policies.
