Under the terms of joint cooperation agreement between Hebron Municipality and Greater Amman Municipality at exchanging experiences and enhances the capacities of workers, a delegation of Experts in the fields of Transportation and Roads reached Hebron to discuss issues related to structural design and construction. The delegation was chaired by Eng. Yasser Alatiyat DCM Public Work who was accompanied by Eng. Mohamamd Khataibeh Director of Study and Design Department and Rashad Shaheen Construction Consultant. The meeting was also attended by Members from Hebron’s Municipal Council, Maher Owaiwi General Manager and Municipal Engineers as well.
Since the arrival of the delegation, they toured in the City of Hebron to get a first hand view on main crossroads. They then hold many technical sessions to make an efficient feasibility study to construct bridges and tunnels to deal with traffic jam.
Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari gave his attention to Jordanian Delegations’ visions and consulting on City’s roads, in order to make an overall and integrated scheme of all entrances and crossroads of Hebron.
Mayor Zatari stressed on the importance of taking city’s entrances in consideration to ensure facilitating transport of goods and keep vehicles away from City Center and crowded areas which directly will support the Local Economy.
Moreover, Dr. Zatari appreciated cooperation with Greater Amman Municipality in various fields; he also called for promoting joint relationship to ensure common interest for locals.
Thereafter, Eng. Alatiyat conveyed regards of Mr. Aqel Biltaji Amman Mayor to Hebron Mayor and Municipal Council Members; and praised efforts of Greater Amman Municipality’s delegation that will cooperate with Engineers of Hebron Municipality to enhance Roads Network at Hebron.
Eng. Alatiyat afterwards added that Hebron Municipality has technical capacity and diverse experiences in addition to workers’ defiance against political condition; he also pointed to the delegation’s intensive efforts to accomplishing the task entrusted to them before leaving the city of Hebron.
By the end of the meeting, symbolic gifts were exchanged between two delegations.
