    Hebron Municipality Delegation Visits Newcastle to Stand in Solidarity with Palestine and to Discuss Cooperation Opportunity


     At the invitation of Newcastle Municipality, Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari well as Dr. Raghad Dweik, a Member from Hebron's Municipal Council visited the Municipality of Newcastle and met many of Parliament Members and other members representing the city's council to ensure further cooperation between both Cities of Newcastle and Hebron.

    Newcastle Deputy Mayor, Joyce Mc Carty warmly hosted the delegation. Then, a meeting was held to discuss the opportunities of further cooperation and partnership between both cities' local institutions to ensure the public interest.
     
    Dr. Zatari expressed that Hebron Municipality aimed at deepening ties with British Cities for enhancing Palestinian living condition whom living under the Israeli Occupation and daily facing the different acts of violence and force which go against all international treaties and laws. He also highlighted the exerted efforts by Hebron Municipality to support the Old City’s nomination for inion on UNESCO's World Heritage List in order to safeguard the city's cultural heritage.
     
    Dr. Zatari then made a presentation about Hebron and the Israeli measures against the innocent citizens, underlined the Palestinian Leaderships' orientation towards achieving a just peace that guarantees the Palestinians' rights and called the competent parties to compel the Israeli Authorities to International law and Human rights charter.
     
    Thereafter, the Hebron Municipality delegation takes apart in the solidarity stand with Palestinian that was held in Newcastle's Gray Square, where the Palestinian there called to support Palestinians' right in self-determination, and called for the creation of a fully sovereign Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital, end the occupation and boycott the Israelis.
     
    Dr. Dweik also spoke about the Women living condition as well as the role played by the Palestinian Women in local decision-making. It is worth mentioning that many sessions will be then held in London for making discussions regarded the Palestinian.
