    President Mahmoud Abbas welcomes the mayor of Turin in the presence of the Mayor of Hebron Dauod Zaatari


     A meeting was held by Mahmoud Abbas the President of Palestine with Piero Fassino; the Mayor of Turin, a member of the Italian Democratic Party, and a former Minister in the presidential headquarter in Ramallah.

    The President recalled the Palestinian commitment in the peace process based on international legitimacy resolutions, to end the occupation and to establish an independent Palestinian state,  Jerusalem as its capital.
     
    On the other hand, Mr. Fassino encountered the latest developments in the peace process and the international efforts to save them.
    He also illustrated his country's support for the peace process and for the principle of a two-state solution, and the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state.
     
    He pointed out that his delegation, which includes representatives from the Municipality of Turin and the Chamber of Commerce, and a number of leading figures in the city, will discuss joint cooperation projects with various Palestinian cities, especially the city of Hebron, with which there is a joint cooperation agreement.
     
    The mayor of Turin offered an invitation to President Abbas to visit the city of Turin, during his future visits to Italy.
    The meeting was attended by the president's political adviser 'Nimer Hammad’, the head of the Presidential Office 'Hussein Araj’, and the mayor of Hebron 'Dauod Zaatari’.
