    Hebron Municipality Receives a Delegation from the British Labor Party


    To get a view of the Hebron's Reality on the ground and to stand in solidarity with the Palestinians were among objectives that the delegation from the British Labor Party aimed to achieve. The visiting delegation was chaired by Judy Mallaber, as well as Tom Levitt, Former labour MPs . The Municipal Council Member, Dr. Raghad Dweik welcomed the delegation members  in the attendance of a staff from Hebron Municipality and of Mr. Kifah Ewaiwi, the Former Secretary General of Fatah Movement.
     
    the Councilor Dr. Dweik conveyed the regards of Hebron Mayor, Dr. Daoud Zatari. She spoke about the political condition of Hebron and about the suffering of its citizens who live particularly in the Old City and in the Southern Area of Hebron, she also touched on the deep relation and ties between Hebron Municipality and the British Labor Party that led to the signature of Memory of Understanding between Municipalities of Hebron and Derby. Then, she put lights on the activities of the Municipality Social Centers that focuses on promoting culture and on increasing awareness among the citizens of Hebron.
     
    Dr. Dweik praised the positive stance of the British labor in supporting the Palestinian Cause and People and in voting to recognize the State of Palestine in the British Parliament.    
     
    Moreover, Dr. Dweik called the visiting delegation to have a tour at the areas that are adjacent to the Jewish settlements to get a first-hand view of their suffering.
     
    On her side, Ms. Mallaber thanked Hebron Municipality for the warm reception and hospitality and said that she sympathized with the Palestinian People and their suffering, and expressed pride of the fruitful cooperation between Hebron Municipality and the British Labor Party. Also, she praised the role of Women in decision making and called to elect Women to participate in the political issues.
     
    The visiting delegation then toured the Child Happiness Center and got a view of the social joint activities between Hebron Municipality and the British Council.
