The Minister of Local Government, Nayef Abu Khalaf, underlined that the Palestinian Unity Government will give the priority development to C area in Hebron, Jerusalem, and the areas adjacent to the apartheid wall, with a view to fostering the local steadfastness, and to protecting the Palestinian Lands from the Israeli practices aimed at empting the country of its population.
"The government gives special consideration to the situation in Hebron", said the minister, adding that the meeting is seeking at discussing the issue of Hebron in which goes under the security campaign.
The meeting which was attended by the Minister of Local Government was also comprised of Mayors and Municipal council Members of Hebron Governorate Municipalities. The attendance then made general discussion on the urgency regardless of the Municipalities entitlements to facilitate covering the civilians' needs, while the percentage of dept collection from people reaches to zero, and on the necessity of increasing Hebron's share of water quantity, particularly when the Israeli forces carried out intensive inspections aimed at blowing up household wells under the pretext of searching on the 3 Israeli missing prisoners.
The Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari, on behalf of the local Municipal Councils stressed the need to unify the Palestinian Leadership and the local institutions, with paying no attention to the internal friction.
Moreover, the attendance underlined the need to enhance the municipalities development projects with a view to provide stable income to ensure the continuity of providing services to citizens.
By the end of the meeting, Minister Abu Khalaf promised to give more attention to the Governorate needs.
