Dr. Daoud Zatari, Mayor of Hebron, met in the Korean Palestinian Center on Tuesday the 20th of August the Palestinian Ambassador in the Republic of Serbia Mohammed Nabhan, accompanied by the former ambassador to Serbia Hafez Nimer, the President of the Alumni Association in Yugoslavia nader Salayma, members of the Assembly Abdul Majeed Neiroukh, Mohammed Zak and Amin Barakat to discuss twining agreements and partnerships with the City of Hebron.
Dr. Zatari welcomed the delegates, valuing their visit to the city of Hebron indicating the most important projects that the Hebron Municipality is implementing such as rehabilitation of streets throughout the city, development of infrastructure, improving performance and activating municipal electronic integrated services.
Furthermore, the division of Hebron into two parts H1 and H2 was illustrated; focusing on the suffering and the difficulty of life experienced by the citizens and the obstacles placed by the Israeli Authorities on the municipal work crews in the southern area.
Dr. Zatari explained that the municipality of Hebron work is not ed only to the city but it offers different services for the province and neighboring areas within the resources available, and strive to build the city of Information Technology contribute to create new jobs and investment in the human sector.
The Mayor pointed to the strategic direction of the Hebron municipality in the international relations and the settle joint agreements with Arab and foreign international cities in order to share experiences, and implement vital projects that contribute to the development of the city and its prosperity
Dr. Zaari valued the role of the Republic of Serbia in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause in all international situations and to vote as a non-observer at the United Nations. He also stated that we are interested in the work of partnerships and agreements with Serbian cities.
Nabhan appreciated the achievements of the Hebron Municipality, expressing his pride in the city of Hebron being an economic center and the its importance on the national level, indicating the role of the Palestinian embassy in Serbia and efforts to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and friendship, and transferrirng the real image of the situation in Palestine to the Serb people and politicians.
Nabhan expressed his happiness for the approval of signing the twinning agreement between the Hebron Municipality and Serbian Cralivue Municipality in order to exchange experiences and to enhance mutual cooperation in various sectors to support national development in the two cities.
