In the meeting with the British Delegation which was chaired by Chi Onwuraw, MP’s Advice Session, and was consisted of 17 members of the parliament as well as members of the British Labor Party, Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari called the delegation to exert pressure on their Government to stop the Israeli violation and to alleviate the suffering of the citizens lived in the Hebron’s Old City and in areas adjacent to Ibrahimi Mosque. The meeting was also attended by representatives of Fath Central Committee well as Dr. Raghad Dweik, Member of Hebron’s Municipal Council.
Dr. Zatari spoke about Hebron’s historical and economic significance, and touched on the city’s division into H1 and H2 which has serious impacts on the civilians’ daily living conditions.
The military campaign which’s committed by the Israeli troops and performed against Hebron’s inhabitants under the pretext of searching on the missing settlers, well as the Israeli Aggravation on the Gaza Strip, the strip infrastructure that was razed to the ground and the killing of the innocent civilians were also among issues discussed in the meeting.
Dr. Zatari then praised the positive stances of Britain’s People, their solidarity with the Gazans, and their continuous support of the Palestine People and Cause.
He further underlined that the foreign delegations have succeed in conveying the Palestinians suffering which’s different from what has shown on the media.
On her part, Anwuraw thanked the mayor for the warm reception and hospitality and said that it was her first visit to Palestine. She also underlined the right of the Palestinians to build their state, end occupation and live in freedom.
After Exchanging symbolic gifts, the delegation members then toured the Old City where they visited al-Ibrahimi Mosque and areas adjacent to settlements in order to get a first-hand view of the reality on the ground and of Palestinians’ suffering.
