Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari reclaimed the Ministry of Local Governance to take in consideration the huge material losses which estimated at millions of dollar in different sectors of the city, stressed on the need to support the owners of small business due to damages caused by heavy snowfall.

 

Dr. Jawad Naji stressed that the Government is working on estimating the losses to assist whom has lost much in latest Weather Episode, despite the bad financial circumstances of Palestinian Government, and the Minister Council has taken in consideration that Hebron City had the lion’ share of weather episode losses.

 

 

Thereafter, Hebron Mayor met with Sa’ed Koni who was accompanied by Muhammad Hasan Jabarin, Assistant Undersecretary Assistant Undersecretary for Local Bodies Affairs, Raed Sharabty, General Director of Ministry of Local Government, and Walid Abu Al-Halawa, Advisor to the Minister in order to get a first hand view of Weather Episode reality on the ground.

 

After welcoming the delegation, Dr. Zatari spoke in detail about t Weather Episode on Palestine, and how Hebron City get the lion’s share of the losses, touching on Municipal Plan to deal with the Emergency Cases. He then raveled out that Hebron Municipality used the technique of Wi-Fi to charge the pre-paid meters at Locals’ Homes.

 

Moreover, Dr. Zatari underlined that Hebron Municipality exerted much efforts to deal with the episode, while renting more Mechanisms and Bulldozers and assisting Palestinian Red Crescent through providing them SUV’s Vehicles to transferring patient and Emergency Cases to Hospitals. They also re-opened about 80% of city’s roads.

 

Dr. Zatari lauded the joint efforts and responsible cooperation between Municipal staff and media in responding rapidly to urgent directives, and issuing inhabitants with appropriate and timely instructions, noting that The Operation Room received more than 3200 calls and dealing with Emergency Cases according to an order of priority.

 

Mr. Koni appreciated the role played by Hebron Municipality to face the snowstorm, touching on Minster of Energy’s said who praised Hebron Electricity Co. for its efforts and withstand despite the unprecedented snowstorm hit Palestine.

 

Afterwards, Hebron Mayor and Minster of Local Governance toured round Hebron Governorate such Municipalities of Yatta and Dora and The Industrial Zones of Hebron City to estimate the quantity of losses.
