    Opening Ceremony of a new sports ground by Hebron Municipality and the TIPH


     On Saturday 30 August, 2013 Dr. Daoud Zatari mayor of Hebron, "Christine Fussen" Head of Mission of the Temporary International Presence in Hebron and Adnan Rajabi the president of Tariq ibn Ziyad Club attended the opening ceremony of a new sports ground, funded by TIPH, in the Tareq Bin Ziyad Community Centre (TBZ) in H2.

     Dr. Zatari started his speech by thanking the countries participating in the TIPH, the  head of the mission and its staff for their cooperation and support for vital projects in the city of Hebron which helps in improving the daily life of the city's population. Indicating that this project will bring better services to the region that is affected by the policies of the Israeli occupation and the presence of the settlers.
     
    Furthermore, he stated that this project will contribute directly to the support of the infrastructure for the launch of youth and children in the region and will support the steadfastness of the population and will be a starting point to the other stages during the coming years.
     
    The Mayor stated that the relationship with the TIPH is not confined to the cooperation in the creation of this project, but there are various projects such as the water project in the old town that will end during the coming period. In addition, he stated that they are confident that the cooperation and effective partnership between the Mayor of Hebron and the mission will yield more creative projects that will serve the public.
     
    On the other hand, Fussen confirmed that the improvement of the standard of living, culture and sports, is from the priorities of the mission that complete the phases of the project to help in the overall improvement of the situation in the southern region of the city due to its large population and privacy policy.
     
    Fussen indicted her emphasis on the partnership and cooperation with the municipality of Hebron referring to previous projects that have been implemented such as the establishment of Tariq ibn Ziyad community Center and the water project that will serve about 6,000 citizens living in the old town the completion of its implementation will be announced in the coming days.
     
    Mr. Rajabi concluded the ceremony by stating that this initiative and creative project comes naturally and responsive to the needs of the citizens and the club which is vital and will serve athletes and clubs in the city. He also illustrated that this opens the horizon for more activities and events for various sports as well as it will fulfill the needs of students of surrounding schools that are more than 15.
     
     Lastly, he spoke on behalf of the citizens of the area and thanked the Mayor and members of the Municipal Council for their efforts and continued support in the development and implementation of projects that serve the region. He also stated that the best proof is what we have seen from the various real achievements.
     
    It is worth mentioning that the project of rehabilitation Stadium Tariq ibn Ziyad consists of several stages, including the first phase establishment of a penta lush football stadium with international standards, in addition to, multipurpose courts for basketball, volleyball, handball and an open area that cost a total of 150 thousand U.S. dollars. Then they will work on the implementation of two consecutive phases that will cause a radical change of the stadium and the surrounding to build an integrated sports complex facilities.
