Hebron Municipality seeks to implement a number of projects related to alternative energy sources through partnerships with a number of donors and international parties, where an agreement was signed with Italian municipalities and institutions in this regard and work is processing with the German Agency for International Cooperation in the same regard.

Dr. Zatari considered the alternative energy project one of the most vital and basic projects, which must adopt policies and strategies to effectively achieve a reduction in the consumption of electricity purchased from the Israeli side and have full independence in the electricity sector.

In addition, the mayor stated that the economic significance nationally, the large number of industrial facilities and the high electrical consumption for industrial purposes of the total public consumption enhances serious thinking about finding alternative methods of providing electrical power. Furhtermore, the success of the joint venture between the Municipality of Hebron and German Cooperation in the field of energy would be an indication towards more additional projects in this aspect. All efforts to this goal must be to utilize the human potential available to build and manage this project as well as, cooperation in training human resources.

On the other hand, Hentschel expressed her happiness and satisfaction of the progress of the project and the cooperation of the Hebron municipality with them.
She also stated that the project's success is a prelude of larger-sized projects being implemented in the city of Hebron in cooperation with the municipality.
