On the 18th of August 2013 Dr. Daoud Zatari met Yousef Barakat, 'the head and the founder of the Canadian Arab Forum, in his office in the Hebron Municipality.
They discussed the importance of activating the role of Palestinian communities in the world with Palestinian institutions to help transfer expertise and facilitate the tasks of twinning and cooperation between the Palestinian and international cities worldwide. They also discussed the possibilities of creating collaborative partnerships between Hebron and Canadian Cities.
Dr. Daoud Zatari illustrated his willingness to create effective partnerships with Arab and foreign cities in order to enhance the knowledge, exchange expertise, and build relationships capable in improving the performance and the development in the cities. Furthermore, the Mayor requested the guests’ cooperation to communicate with the Palestinian and Arab community in Canada and to contribute in the creation of connections with Canadian cities through the implementation of agreements, partnerships, and reciprocal visits to transmit the true situation in Hebron in particular and the Palestinians in general.
On the other hand, Yousef Barakat states that the Palestinian and Arab community in Canada is seeking to find cooperation and establish partnerships and agreements between the Palestinian and Canadian cities.
