    Hebron Municipality Receives a Swiss Youth Delegation


     Hebron Municipality welcomed a Swiss youth delegation of a combined group of students from universities in Switzerland on Thursday 5th of September 2013.

    A short documentary about the city of Hebron that explains the life experienced by the residents of the old town and the pressures and abuses of the occupation authorities on daily basis was shown. The video showed the reality of industrial, agricultural, educational and health sectors in the city.
     
    At the beginning of the meeting, the Director of public relations Yehya AlNatshe welcomed the delegation. He also indicated the eagerness and the interest of The Mayor of Hebron Dr, Daoud Zatari and the council members in the city of Hebron, their aspirations for future development of the city, and the strategic plan adopted by the Hebron Municipality for the advancement of the city.
     
    The life experienced by the citizens of the city was discussed, pointing out violations carried out by the occupation against citizens in the old town unlawfully, and the continuous closure of Shuhada Street and preventing merchants from opening shops. AlNatshe also illustrated the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre and the divisions, barriers and obstacles the city’s population face to access and perform the religious rituals.
     
    After the meeting, the delegation went to the old town and the Ibrahimi Mosque to see the reality of the old town and its inhabitants’ sufferings by the Israeli occupation authorities.
     
    On contrary, before leaving the city the delegation expressed their happiness to visit Hebron showing appreciation and satisfaction to the services that Hebron Municipality provide to its citizens. Lastly, they thanked the Hebron Municipality to host them in the city, and wished that Palestinian people lives a decent life rightful life.
