Dr. Daoud Zatari, the Mayor of Hebron, met with Liu Aizhong, China's Ambassador in Palestine, who was accompanied by a commercial attaché and consultants from the Embassy, to make discussions on the opportunity of implementing developmental projects, constructing a tunnel in Hebron as well as constructing a Health Care Center in the southern area of the city. Also, the Solar Energy System was among issues discussed in the attendance of Hebron Deputy Mayor, many members of Hebron's Municipal Council, Hebron Municipality's General Manger and Mayor's Assistant.
Dr. Zatari welcomed the delegation and expressed his happiness for their visit. He then started speaking on Hebron's political and economical conditions, with touching the impact the city's division into H1 and H2 on Hebron Municipality while providing services to the Old City's inhabitants.
Dr. Zatari underlined that Hebron has a close commercial ties with the Republic of China, and called to open China's new trade office here in Hebron.
In the meeting with the Ambassador, Dr. Mayor suggested to construct a Health Care Center that covers the needs of the Old City's local which is totally under the Israeli Occupation, taking note of Hebron Municipality's exerted efforts in conducting a feasibility study to establish a tunnel with a view to curb the traffic jams. Dr. Zatari, moreover, discussed the opportunity of funding the proposed projects by the Republic of China just as they have promoted commercial ties with Hebron's Business Men.
On his part, the ambassador Aizhong expressed his happiness for his visit to Hebron in the context of promoting cooperation and exchanging experiences among Hebron and China, as Hebron is considered as a prominent City in Palestine's economy. He stressed that China interested in providing decent living conditions and the wellbeing for all inhabitants. "We are fully committed to discuss the proposed projects with Chinese Experts, in addition to discuss the opportunity of obtaining finance from the China's Government" he added.
Thereafter, both delegations toured the City where they get a view of the proposed sites to implement the projects in.
