    Dr. Zatari To World Bank : Al- Minia Landfill Is Totally Palestinian , Not Allowed for others' Usage


     Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari and the Executive Director of Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management of Hebron and Bethlehem underlined that al-Minia Landfill which was constructed to recycling and managing the solid waste is a Palestinian Municipal's Property. " We will not permit for Non- Palestinians to using this landfill, and the Joint Services Council will soon run the project on" He Said.

    Dr. Zatari illustrated that Israel's decision in pending landfill's opening as long as allowing settlers to get the benefit is totally rejected by Local Institutions and Palestinian Municipalities. He then underlined the illegality of establishing settlements on Palestinian territories, imploring the World Bank, UNDP and the Italian Government who definitely have supported the project of the landfill to exert pressure on Israeli Government to reverse its decision.
     
    The meeting which was attended by a Delegation of World Bank chaired by Bjorn Philipp the Senior Urban Specialist , Yasser Dweik the Executive Director of Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management of Hebron and Bethlehem, and Allam Ashhab the Mayor's Assistant discussed The Municipal Strategic Plan and Trends for a better future. The Alternative Energy Resources, Industrial Zones, IT park were also among the issues that have been discussed throughout the meeting. There after, Dr. Zatari raised the matters of Curbing the Unemployment, well as the need to build a joint cooperation with different World's Municipalities.
     
    By the end of the meeting, World Bank expressed their happiness of the joint cooperation with Hebron Municipality, and he also expressed their readiness for Sustainable Development in Palestine, and try to assist Palestinian People in Infrastructure Projects.
