Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari met with Costanza Pasquali Lasagni the program Analyst of Infrastructure and Engineering Unit who was accompanied by Ahmad Shurafa the Project Manager of Capacity Development. The meeting which was attended by Municipal Council Members and Allam Ashhab the Mayor’s Assistant discussed the opportunity of getting support for Renewable Energy and projects of evolving City’s infrastructure .
After welcoming the delegation, Dr. Zatari spoke about his last participation in the Second World Forum of Local Economic Development which held in Brazil - Iguaçu Falls and organized by UNDP, he also underlined how effective the forum was to promoting the exchange of expertise and to get familiar with other experiences well as enhancing and building cooperation with other participant cities.
Dr. Zatari praised the positive stance by Brazil in supporting Palestinian and their cause, he then touched on the joint projects with Italian Cooperation such the project of implementing Information Technology Park, adding the need to support sectors of Renewable Energy Resources in Palestine.
Thereafter, Lasagni expressed her happiness to visit Hebron. She then underlined the importance of UNDP projects for Palestinian Cities, stressing the necessity of promoting joint cooperation between the United Nation Development Program and Hebron Municipality throughout supporting the different sectors of Infrastructure projects, praising the role played by Hebron Municipality in succeeding the development programs.
By the end of the meeting, symbolic gifts were exchanged between the two delegations and Dr. Zatari thanked the UNDP for their sustainable support to Palestinian and Hebron City's Inhabitants in particular .
