    A High Level Delegation Visits Hebron Municipality


     Hebron Mayor, Dr. Daoud Zatari met a delegation of the Party of Progress and  Socialism (PPS), a political party in Morocco. The delegation was chaired by Minister Muhamad Nabil Benabdalla, the Minister of Housing and the Secretary General of the PPS, , who was accompanied by the Chairman of PPS, Ismail Al-Alawi, in addition to other representatives and advisors of the PPS.

    At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Zatari welcomed the delegation and stressed on the importance of cooperation with Morocco's government and people given the close ties between both countries.
     
    Dr. Zatari underlined that the visits of Arab Delegations to Palestine will seriously promote the steadfastness of the Palestinians and will alleviate their plight and suffers as they daily face an excessive use of force by the Israeli troops.
     
    Dr. Zatari spoke about political and security conditions in the city, daily Palestinian suffering due to Israeli occupation and settler practices as well as attempts to displace the local population and to increase settlement activity.
     
    Moreover, Dr. Zatari touched on the Twinning Agreements signed between Hebron Municipality and the Municipalities of Fez and Casablanca. He also called the delegation to exert more efforts to implement projects related to culture and history with the city of Fez, as it has Common denominators with the city of Hebron.
     
    The Minister Benabdalla expressed his willingness to build cooperation and enhance ties with Hebron Municipality through cooperation in different field that serve the public interest. . He underlined the need for a fair and just peace and the creation of a fully sovereign Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital. He expressed his happiness at this visit to Palestine in general and to Hebron’s Old City in particular as well as his sorrow at the suffering and violations caused by the occupation.
     
    Therafter,Both Delegations exchanged symbolic gifts. They then toured the Old City where they visited Al Ibrahimi Mosque and areas adjacent to settlements in order to get a first-hand view of the reality on the ground and of Palestinian suffering.
