Dr. Daoud Zatari mayor of Hebron met on the 7th of October 2013, " David Linsee " international relations official in the municipality of Manheim, and an accompanying delegation of German Welfare GIZ in the presence of members of the municipal council. The meeting is to strengthen mutual relations and the completion of the steps that had been agreed upon by the beginning of the month of June during the visit of the German municipalities’ delegation to Hebron.
The cooperation in the fields of economic development in all sectors, such as opportunities to achieve success, obstacles that stand in front of the Hebron Municipality in the implementation of its strategic plan , especially in the field of the development of the industrial sector and the development of the local economy and how to raise its level was discussed.
The Mayor of Hebron illustrated that Hebron Municipality is working on improving and developing the economic situation in the city and improve the lives of citizens, despite all the obstacles imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities that affects freedom of movement and the freedom of trade. In addition, the Mayor stated that Hebron Municipality is looking through its international partners to make progress in the level of service provided to citizens to improve their lives, provide a decent livelihood, lift the violations committed against the population of the city, and stop the arbitrary measures imposed by the occupation authorities, which violates all norms and international conventions.
His Excellency continued that the Israeli control over the natural resources of the State of Palestine unjustly, restricts the ability of Palestinian people to implement development plans that will ensure the achievement of integrated development.
For his part, Linsee showed sympathy with the Palestinian people in general and the residents of Hebron in particular showing great interest in the development of mechanisms for joint cooperation to benefit the two cities, stressing the desire of his hometown on the ongoing cooperation with the city of Hebron.
He also handed Dr. Zatari an invitation from the Mayor of Manheim to visit his hometown and signing of the twinning agreement.
