Dr. Daoud Zatari mayor of Hebron, received in his office a delegation from the Evangelical Youth Welfare Association in Germany, headed by its president Dr. Andreas Eckhoff.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Zatari welcomed the delegation, offering a full explanation about the city of Hebron, noting its geography and history about the old town and the suffering of the citizens because of the obstacles placed by the occupation authorities on the pretext of protecting settlers. The Mayor explained the difficulty of life for its residents and especially children as they go to school and the presence of permanent barriers by the Israeli occupation authorities and the violations on citizens carried out by the occupation authorities unlawfully.

 

The Mayor indicated the services provided by the Hebron municipality to its citizens, indicating the interest of Hebron municipality in the youth sectors through the strategic plan set by the municipality, indicating institutions that are specialized for the special needs sector in the city.

 

Dr. Zatari asked the delegation transfer the real image they have seen during their tour of the old town; the suffering of the population and the bitter reality due to the violations of the occupation authorities.

 

On Contrary, Andreas thanked the mayor of Hebron, for the warm reception and hospitality, expressing his happiness to visit the city illustrating his feelings for the situation of the Palestinian people, especially residents of the old city of Hebron.
