The Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari, conveyed the suffering of Hebron City, as a result of the Israeli Occupation's violent measures and practices, to the Senior Economic Advisor at the Office of the Special Envoy for Israeli-Palestinian Negotiation, Hady Amr. He also touched on Israeli restrictions on the citizens of Tall-Rumaida as well as of the Southern Area of the City of Hebron in an attempt to displace the population and to increase the settlement activity.
Dr. Zatari called attention to Hebron's Economic Situation and how the last War on Gaza Strip affected on the city's lively conditions. He then discussed the opportunity of implementing a number of economic projects, in addition to developing the infrastructure of the city. The meeting was also attended by Members from Hebron's Municipal Council.
Dr. Zatari, moreover, said "Israeli Authorities prevent Hebron Municipality from implementing development projects in H2 areas and impede the municipal staff to cover the needs on the inhabitants.
Dr. Zatari highlighted the present projects which are in cooperation with many foreign donors such as the USAID, and praised the role of the USAID in enhancing different fields of daily life.
By the end of the meeting, the mayor called for more foreign support in order to enable the municipality to carry out an effective strategic plan that aims at developing different sectors of the city, and called to implement economic projects in cooperation with foreign donors which could create job opportunities to the graduates and could curb the unemployment.
