    Hebron Municipality Represents Palestine at the Local Economic Development Forum At Brazil


    Hebron Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari attended The Second International Forum of Local Economic Development, which was held in Iguaçu Falls-Brazil and organized by UNDP for three consecutive days, as a representative of Palestine. The Forum was also attended by 2000 Experts and Specialists in the field of local economic development from 53 states as well as Dr. Salah Al-Hussaini;  a member of Municipal Council and Allam Ashhab; the General Manager of International Cooperation in Hebron Municipality .
     
    The conference that was attended by Ministers, Mayors and Members of Brazil's Government discussed the role of the Conference in promoting Global joint partnership in the field of local economic development and exchanged the knowledge and expertise throughout the held sessions in the forum.
     
    Dr. Zatari underlined that the Palestinian Participation intends to reveal Israeli Occupation measures, practices and violations that s the opportunity of economic development amongst Palestinian Cities in general, and Hebron City in particular. In addition, the Mayor highlighted the daily suffering of citizens due to division the city into two parts and the difficulties they face due to settlers' violation against them. "Hebron Municipality will participate in the conference sessions to show Palestinian Cities' the trends of local economic development in cooperation with World's Towns to improve the economic conditions despite the Occupation we are facing,” he added.
     
    Furthermore, the Municipal delegation met with the Minister of Local Governance of Spain and The Argentine Ambassador in Brazil and it is worth mentioning that Dr. Daoud Zatari was the only Palestinian Mayor who represented all Palestinian Municipalities in the sessions of the conference.
