The Mayor of Hebron met today with an Italian Delegation chaired by Mr.Lorenzo Serra , The Manager of IREN Marketing Division . The meeting which was also attended by Italian experts , Municipal council members and the general manager of International Cooperation , discussed the opportunities to improve Water and Sanitation Sectors in the City of Hebron .
After welcoming the delegation , Dr. Zatari Spoke about the political and economic conditions in Hebron as well as Israeli practices which prevents the Palestinian Authority from executing development projects and building industrial zones and the suffering of inhabitants due to Israeli Occupation , measures and violations against the habitants in the old city under the pretext of protecting the settlers .
Dr. Zatari discussed joint cooperation opportunities with Italian Institutions to enhance the Sectors of Water and Sanitation by adopting technical workshops means to evolve the capacity of Engineers and employees cadres in corporation with Italian experts .
Mr. Serra thanked the Mayor for the warm reception and hospitality , and expressed his readiness to further cooperation with Hebron Municipality to enhance the efficiency of Municipal Cadres by exchanging both experiences in the field of Waste water and Sanitation .
After the meeting , the delegation had a tour to The Old City , Ibrahim Mosque , and Ceramic factory as well as a tour to the factory of glass in the City of Hebron .
