The Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari and the Chief Representative of Turkish International Cooperation and Development (TIKA), Bulent Korkmaz, discussed the opportunity of funding many vital project in the city of Hebron with giving the top priority to the project of constructing a Health Care Center in the Southern area of the city, which is situated in the H2 area and is under the security control of the Israeli Authority.
Dr. Zatari highlighted that the citizens of H2 area daily faced violent practices by the Israeli troops who aimed at impeding the movement of the inhabitants as well as at continuous closuring down of the old city's streets.
He also underlined that the construction of the center is on the top priority of Hebron Municipality action plan, in addition to the importance of establishment of a new slaughterhouse and of a Turkey-Palestine Culture Center. He further called to promote ties and to sign other twinning agreement with Turkish Cities similar to the agreements signed with Bursa and Urfa Municipality.
The mayor of Hebron then praised the role of Turkey's government, President, and people in supporting the Palestinian cause and in alleviating the miserable living conditions of the Palestinians.
Korkmaz referred to the obvious trends of the Turkish President to support the Palestinians and to safeguard their unity. He also mentioned that the TIKA will take in consideration the conditions of the Palestinians cities in order to get a view of which city is needy to get a share of the development project, and he stressed that Al- Ibrahimi Mosque will be included in the TIKA priorities.
After exchanging symbolic gifts, the visiting delegation toured the old city and the area adjacent to Al-Ibrahimi Mosque.
