Dr. Zatari thanked the TIPH for their cooperation with Hebron Municipality and commended their continuous support for many vital projects in Hebron particularly the Center of Tareq Bin Ziad which help to improve the livelihoods of Hebron's civilians, especially whom live in the southern Area of the City and face daily Israeli acts of force, It will also contribute to unleash the potential of young Palestinians, thereby promoting the locals' steadfastness.

 

On her Part, Fustin said " It is with great pleasure that we are finally ready to declare Tariq Bin Ziad Sports Arena operational, and we are keen at providing Palestinian a decent living condition, and TIPH in cooperation with the Municipality of Hebron and the local community has devoted a lot of efforts to improve and normalize the life in the Tariq Bin Ziad area and H2, by implementing projects in the field of sport, health, art, media, education and environment".

 

Thereafter, Rajabi, on behalf of the residents, thanked Hebron Mayor, Municipal Council members and TIPH for their efforts exerted to execute projects in Hebron.

The opening ceremony was followed by a friendly football match, a futsal (five-a-side football),  between TIPH members and a team from the Hebron Municipality, where the municipal team got 2-1 victory over TIPH's football team.

 

It is worth mentioning that the projects of rehabilitation the center playgrounds go through three phases, and the construction of an artificial grass football playfield and a multipurpose playground for basketball and volleyball were considered as a first phase towards constructing a sport complex.
