The Consul General of Italy, Mr. Davide La Cecilia, honored the Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari, with the Medal of Italian Star, which is granted from the President of Italy and the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs. The honoring ceremony was followed by an  Iftar Dinner organized by Hebron Municipality at the Queen Plaza Hotel in the attendance of Hebron Governor, Mr. Kamel Hmeid as well as other high- level officials in the City.

In his speech, Consul La Cecilia underlined that this star is considered as an appreciation of the Italian Government for a significant Palestinian work, such as the efforts exerted by the Municipality of Hebron, represented by its Mayor, in promoting the Italian Palestinian ties ,particularly, in the implementation of many vital projects that supported by the Italian Government, like, the Technology Park, the Renewable Energy and other projects in Water and Sanitation sectors.

On the other part, Mr. Hmeid congratulated Dr. Zatari and expressed his pride of this honoring. He praised  the accomplishments of the Mayor Zatari  on both local and national levels, " the achievements on the ground that aim at enhancing the local development are considered as a big evidence of success during Dr. Zatari's term of serving as the Mayor of the city " he added. Then, Mr. Hmeid appreciated the  role of the Italian Government in supporting the Palestinian people and Government.
