The Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari, and the TIPH Head of Mission, Mr. Inar Johnson, signed the agreement of Rehabilitation of Al-Maaref and Johar schools which are located in the southern area of the city. This agreement is supported by the TIPH with a view to support the education sector in the city under the Israeli occupation.
During the meeting, Dr. Zatari discussed the opportunity of implementing further projects such as social centers in H2 area particularly in Al-Salaimeh and Jaber neighborhoods which are surrounded by military barriers. The residents of those two places suffered of the illegal practices by the settlers whom protected by the Israeli forces.
The Mayor also put lights on the Israeli Occupation violations that have been perpetrated against the citizens who dwell in the Old City, Tall Rumaida, and in contact zones adjacent to settlements that built on Palestinian land.
Mr. Johnson expressed willingness to deepen the ties with the Municipality of Hebron in additional areas of development that would alleviate the suffering of the city citizens.
