American Delegation Gets a View of Hebron Situation

A high level American delegation comprised of pastors, church leaders, religious journalists, and other professional people committed to the Holy Land struggle, and interested in the region visited Hebron City and met with the Mayor Dr. Daoud Zatari.  The delegation was chaired by Dr. John Lindner, and the aim of that visit  is to gain a deeper understanding of the current realities in the Palestinian land.

The Mayor started his discussion by putting lights on the historical significance of the city as it's considered as the second oldest city of the world. He also described the economic situation of Hebron which is getting down due to the Israeli Obstruction and to the closing down of the city entrances.

Dr. Zatari also spoke about the political situation of the city, its division into H1 and H2, and the illegal practices by the Israeli Occupation against the citizens who particularly live in the southern area of Hebron and H2 areas under the pretext of protecting the illegal presence of the settlers.

The Mayor asked the delegation to convey the city reality and the citizens suffering to their government and people.

Thereafter, the delegation asked the Mayor many related questions, then, they made a tour at the old city and got a first-hand view of the situation on the ground.
