The Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari, met with the Italian General Consul, Davide La Cecilia, accompanied by PMSP Project Manager, Dr. Antonio La Rocca with a view to ensure obtaining finance to cover the projects of Alternative Energy and Technology Park and to get a first-hand view on the progression of joint projects between Municipalities of Italy and Hebron.
In the meeting held at Korea Palestine Center (KPC), Dr. Zatari welcomed the delegation and praised the political stances well as the role played by the Italy's Government and People in supporting Palestinians and in implementing developmental projects particularly in Hebron.
Dr. Zatari gave a detailed presentation about Hebron's vital projects, touching on the joint Technology park project's function in curbing the unemployment and in investing human capabilities to ensure supporting the local economic development which inevitably led to enhance the frustrate life of the citizens. He also underlined that the project of Alternative (Solar) Energy will allocate Electricity from new alternative resources in line with the city's need.
Dr. Zatari then said "Hebron Municipality faced many obstructions by the Israeli Occupation while improving its services in the Old City".
Moreover, the Mayor pointed to the Twinning Agreement recently signed with the cities of Amman and Bursa in the context of upgrading roads and transportation networks.
On his part, La Cecilia stressed his Country support to Palestine's People and Leadership, and stressed his Government support to Palestinian Municipalities Support Program (PMSP) by the needed finance and Consultation, adding "we are keen to enhance ties and build cooperation with Hebron Municipality, so we officially approve on financing the projects of Technology Park and Alternative (Solar) Energy, and we are readiness to facilitate the establishment of the projects in case of any obstruction by the Israeli Side."
