    American Delegation Visits Hebron City

An American Delegation comprised of representatives from civil and religious institutions that chaired by Mr. John Linder, visited Hebron City with a view to stand in solidarity with the Palestinians particularly with Hebron citizens and to express its rejection to the Israeli Occupation measures.

The Mayor of Hebron, Dr. Daoud Zatari, in the attendance of Members from Hebron Councilors, welcomed the delegation  and spoke about the suffering of both Hebron's Old City and Southern Area residents, also, about the Israeli Occupation Measures that have been perpetrated against the citizens.

Dr. Zatari gave a talk about the city's historical and religious significance, and underlined the cooperation between Hebron Municipality and the city's institutions to promote the Palestinians presence in the Old city and to foil the displacement schemes decided by the Israeli Authority.

In this context, Dr. Zatari raised the issue of the peace process and how the Palestinian leadership is seeking a just and comprehensive peace. He also called freedom-loving people and anybody  with a conscious to exert much pressure on the Israeli Side, and to support rights guaranteed by international laws that call for  human rights and freedom of movement and worship. However, the reality on the ground shows that Israel is not serious and lacks the real desire to achieve peace, added the Mayor.

Mr. Linder said that the delegation visit aimed at expressing solidarity with the Palestinians, as they have the total right to live in peace as stipulated in the international treaties.

A Field tour was then made to the Old City in order to get a first-hand view of the Palestinians' suffering on the ground.
