    Mayor of Hebron Briefs an Argentine Member of Parliament about Hebron's Situation


    Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, briefed the Member of Argentine Parliament, Ms. Laura Moroni, about the situation of Hebron City, and put light on the successes achieved by Hebron Municipality, such the inscription of Hebron's Old City and Al Ibrahimi Mosque on the UNESCO's Heritage List  "in danger list", in addition to considering Hebron as a World Craft City. He then referred to suffering of the city due to the division of the city into two parts, H1 and H2, and to the settlers presence in the heart of the city.

    Abu Sneineh touched on the Israeli military illegal to establish a local council for the illegal Jewish settlements in the Heart of the city,  which is consider as a grave violation of Hebron Protocol signed in 1997 and other international treaties and laws. He also extended his grateful for the countries of South America for their appreciated stance toward the Palestinian cause, and expressed proud of the twinning ties between the municipalities of Hebron and Buenos Aires in Argentina since 2013.  

    On the other part, Ms. Moroni expressed happiness for the visit to Hebron,  and expressed sympathy with the Palestinians particularly who live in Hebron. she then underlined that she got a first-hand view of the reality on the ground and of Palestinian suffering, and stressed the need for a fair and just peace and the creation of a fully sovereign Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital.
