    Abu Sneineh and Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Open Animation Festival and Discuss Cooperation Opportunity


    Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, met a delegation of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation consisted of Ms. Christina Natoli, Head of Jerusalem Office, and Ms. Guia Faglia, Gender Programme Manager.

    The meeting which brought together Ms. Sahar Qawasmi, Municipal Councilor, Mr. Naim Hamdan, Representative of Hebron Directorate of Education, Ms. Amani Abu Sneineh, Director of Culture Department at Hebron Governorate, as well as Mr. Mahmoud Abu Sneineh, Director of Social Activities Department at Hebron Municipality, aimed at discussing opportunities of promoting cooperation between the two parties. However, this meeting followed the opening of the Animation Festival that held in Child Happiness Center, which comes within the framework of joint cooperation between Hebron municipality and the Italian Agency.

    During the meeting, Mr. Abu Sneineh spoke about the suffering of Hebron citizens ,particularly, who live in the Old City and in areas adjacent to the illegal settlements, pointing out that the Israeli Occupation is seeking at Judaization the southern area of the city, by approving on  the construction of new settlements units in the Heart of Hebron City. This will obstruct the municipality staff from providing services to the civilians, he added.

    Moreover, Mr. Abu Sneineh underlined the deep Palestinian and Italian ties, and referred to  the twinning ties between Hebron and Italian cities, calling to endeavors to deepening the cooperation between Hebron Municipality and other municipalities in Italy in different fields of development.

    On the other side, Mr. Natoli expressed happiness to held this festival in partnership with Hebron Municipality, and assured that the agency is keen to execute projects concerning women, health and environment, particularly in H2 area.
